Highlight: Flanged Diaphragm Valve
Product introduction:
Diaphragm valve is a special type of shut-off valve that emerged in the 1920s. Its opening and closing component is a
diaphragm made of soft materials, which separates the inner cavity of the valve body from the inner cavity of the valve cover
and the driving parts—hence the name "diaphragm valve". It is a shut-off valve that uses an elastic diaphragm as both the
opening/closing element and the sealing element. The valve body features a(ridge-type) structure, and the ridge forms a
sealing pair with the diaphragm. The periphery of the diaphragm is fixed, dividing the valve cavity into two mutually
disconnected parts. The lower part of the diaphragm serves as the fluid channel. Components such as the valve disc, valve
stem, and valve cover are all located above the diaphragm, isolated from the fluid. This isolation prevents them from being
corroded by the fluid and also avoids contamination of the fluid by impurities like rust. Diaphragm valves do not require a
stuffing box, thus eliminating the problem of valve stem sealing. The inner surface of the valve body is usually lined with
rubber or enamel; alternatively, the entire valve body may be made of corrosion-resistant metal or non-metallic materials
(such as stainless steel and engineering plastics). The diaphragm material is typically rubber or fluoroplastic. The service
life of a diaphragm valve depends on the fatigue resistance of its diaphragm. It is particularly suitable for corrosive fluids
and fluids requiring cleanliness, such as acetic acid, chemical fiber raw materials, and boiler softened water. Its working
pressure is generally not greater than 0.6 MPa, the working temperature is usually below 100℃, and the nominal diameter
is not larger than 350 mm.

Product features:
1. The diaphragm made of soft sealing materials such as rubber or plastic has good sealing performance. Since the
diaphragm is a vulnerable part, it should be replaced regularly according to the characteristics of the medium.
2. Due to the limitations of diaphragm materials, diaphragm valves are suitable for low-pressure occasions with relatively
low temperatures.
3. Diaphragm valves can be divided into six types according to their structural forms: weir type, straight-through type,
globe type, full-bore type, gate type and angle type.
4. Generally, it is not suitable for pipelines with temperatures higher than 60℃, or for transporting organic solvents and
strong oxidizing media, nor is it suitable for use in pipelines with relatively high pressure.
