ASTM A216-WCB Thermodynamic Type Steam Trap For Steam Pipeline Use

The thermodynamic disc type steam trap valve is based on the principle of thermodynamics, utilizing the different characteristics of steam and condensate thermodynamics. Due to the different flow rates and volumes of steam and condensate passing through the valve hole, it causes dynamic and static pressure changes in kinetic energy and potential energy, resulting in changes in the pressure difference between the upper and lower parts of the valve plate, driving the valve plate to open and close the valve seat hole, thereby achieving the purpose of steam blockage and drainage. Disc type steam trap valves are widely used in steam main pipelines, heat tracing pipelines, jacket volutes, and various small steam equipment.
Thermodynamic steam trap is a very sturdy and simple to operate drain valve. This type of steam trap works by the power generated when the flash steam passes through the steam trap valve, as shown in the overview diagram. The only movable component is a disc located on the plane inside the control room.
During the start-up phase, due to pressure, the disc is lifted, and condensed water and air pass over the inner valve seat and are discharged from the three small holes at the outer outlet through the lower part of the disc.
There is a movable valve plate inside the thermal power drain valve, which is both a sensitive component and an actuating component. According to the different thermodynamic principles of the flow rate and volume changes of steam and condensed water passing through, different pressure differences are generated above and below the valve plate to drive the valve plate to open and close the valve. The steam leakage rate is 3%, and the subcooling degree is 8 ℃ -15 ℃.
